INCUBUS LIVE IN MANILA: BEYOND SHIRTLESS BRANDON BOYD
March 11, 2008Okay. There’s no doubt I’m still in recovering from the love mushiness for Brandon.
Nevertheless, here’s my attempt for a constructive review of the concert.
The concert started on time. UP Dharma Down set the mood. Although, I like their songs, I was thinking of other bands to be the front act—like maybe Urbandub??
Here are some of my comments:
It was bitin–I felt like UDD had more stage time.
They did not play DIG and LOVE HURTS. WHy why why…
I like the sequence of the songs– a little of the old and new.
Most of the songs that I liked were played. If I’m not mistaken here are the songs they played in the LIGHT GRENADES album: QUICKSAND, A KISS TO SEND US OFF, OIL AND WATER, LIGHT GRENADES and ANNA MOLLY [ Not in particular order]
They were a bit aloof? No–I don’t think this is the right term. They weren’t as receptive as I was expecting. They do encourage crowd participation, though.
The crowd was still tamed. I was expecting RIOT–like all out, hell breaking loose, mosh pit. Well, for one thing, it was not an open field. That might have did the trick.
Mike threw his pick, Jose– his drumsticks..I so envy those in the front row. What about Brandon’s shirt??
DJ CHRIS— WE’RE NOT WORTHY!! (10,000 X)
Brandon’s bongo-playing is SPANKIN’!!!!
There you go…this is as far as I can get. I might go back into elaborating the shirtless brandon experience and the chronicles of the fangirl. Enough said.

Posted by joycerica at March 12, 2008, 12:34 amhi! like Mick i was searching for pictures (brandon sans shirt) on google and it led me here. google must love you lol
i just wanted to say that i agree with you on urbandub. hehe i was also half expecting them to be the front act. reactions were mixed from everyone (in the giniling festival mailing list that is) who knew UDD was opening(what a coincidence! winamp played a UDD song just now!) . it was.. “uh, what? why?” but then when i hear their set i realized it complimented incubus. if urbandub was there, people would be rocking early on. sa galing ng urbandub parang medyo makaka pre-empt. hehe at medyo pareho pa sila ng tugtugan kaya parang walang bago. at least nung UDD naiba.
napahaba yung comment ko.
yun lang. salamat.
hi! ….and yet another lurker.. salamat, google. hehehe..thanks for dropping by…
