FANGIRLING:the incubus experience

The day I’ve been waiting for, so much anticipation that until now it’s giving me butterflies in my stomach. Despite the fact that I don’t own a single album on this band, I still am proud to be called the fangirl (Karen,allow me to borrow the term).  I can distinctly remember the day I found out they were coming. I instantly texted my cousin. It was sometime in mid January. The patron tickets were almost sold out. The good seats were taken by the higher deity.  We settled in for the upper box. They were good seats, smack in the middle. You can see the entire stage—as in Brandon was right across me–only he was several rows away…

It was my first time to watch a major concert and to enter Araneta Coliseum! We got there around 6:30 p.m.  We can already see a sea of black.. Punkistas, Rockitas, and a little bit of your wanna-be groupies.. It gave me the shivers. We entered and waited in anticipation… Even my bladder can’t hold the excitement. I gave up! The stand in line among the other fangirls. Shit shit shit shit!!! I have to pee!!! When it was my turn, I heard the crowd roared… SHit shit shit… Well, it was UP Dharma Down.. 

They sang around maybe 7 or 8 songs.  Then it was pitch black. My heart was pounding like it was ready to explode!!!!  I shouted with all my strength!!!!  They are really here!!!!!

First song, QUICKSAND then A KISS TO SEND US OFF.. There they were several rows in front of me… Brandon’s head banging, Ben’s  bass thumping, Dj Chris, scratching and head banging at the same time, Mike on guitars strumming away and Jose pounding like there’s no tomorrow!!! The crowd went wild…. 

I can’t explain the feeling–It’s as if you’re floating away, lost in your own trance while singing their song.. IT WAS SURREAL!!!!

Then after maybe three or four songs, he took his shirt off… Waaaaaaah!!!!!!  Plain white sando… Nice biceps.. hehehe…Another set of songs, then off with the SANDO!!!!!  Holy crap!!!  When will I have my own Brandon Boyd???  When, God..when???

It was all worth it..If ever they’d come back again. I definitely buy the patron tickets…
