A Familiar Scent

May 12, 2009

Oh well, I just struck another land mine. Monday’s are really made of pure fail. Yesterday, I received two e-mails of  pure unadulterated epic fail. It involved a huge amount of moolah. *headdesk* And to add insult to injury, I was given another deadline to meet, which adds up to the other deadlines that are waiting to be UNMET. No need for elaboration.

Sometimes the self-flagellation is self-imposed but more often that not, the Evil Friar has this knack of testing your resiliency.  So yeah, as I was moping around the office, around sometime between midnight and dawn, a familiar scent came–like my Mom’s old perfume. *goosebumps*

I don’t know if I am merely hallucinating, but I swear I knew that scent. I was the only one in the room.

And somehow I felt at peace knowing that maybe admist all these chaos someone is watching over me, perhaps laughing at my mediocrity, saying “my, my, my daughter’s such an idiot”, or perhaps, just maybe, just there…watching silently smiling and thinking that it’s okay. I am okay.

Belated Happy Mother’s day, Mom.  I hope there’s a no smoking sign there in heaven, ya hear??!

Si Pacman, Papa Jake at ang PI na Payroll

May 4, 2009

I dunno, my weekends don’t deserve to be called rest days anymore. I’ve been here and there —so busy like a woman on crack.

This weekend, I was on a roll again. I woke up around 6 a.m. Sunday morning for the Pacquaio - Hatton match. My cousin YMed me the link for the live stream. Too bad the site crashed. So yeah, I waited patiently (cussing in between those minutes) for the curtain raisers to be done with, and then the site crashed. LOVELY.

Instead, we waited for the late broadcast although, in the middle of waiting, I already saw the breaking news that Hatton foiled in the 2nd round. Meh! Thank God, I did not pay to get to see it live. Otherwise, I would have given somebody that left hook they’re all been raving about.

So after Pacquiao, so that’s around 4pm already because GMA played the match twice, I took a shower coz I have to go back to the office finish the shit that I left  undone. BTW, The actual match took almost 7 minutes for crissake! 7 MINUTES.  En route, I had to go to theI salon to get a haircut. Yeah, too much testosterone level after seeing the bout. I just had to do it to boost my depreciating self-esteem.

Ron went with me to get my hair done while Chaz, Ariane and Raph went to jog in Ateneo, then after that I went to the office to finish my work—apparently i didn’t. baaaah! Coz, we’ll it’s just complicated to really explain the nitty-gritty part.  Also, procrastination mode again.

Sometime around 8pm, friends were already  asking me to join them in their Pacman Victory Puke Fiesta. So I ditched work, went to Chilli’s where I also saw Jake Cuenca and Jennilyn Mercado. (Dammit, I forgot to take pictures for 8treasures.)

The girls had too much slushies already. Ron shouted, “Si Jake!”. Hahaha. FYI: Ariane’s really a big JC fan.  We need to restrain ourselves from asking a photo op. Sayang, I didn’t have enough balls to actually ask him. Also, her fiance - Raph was there and it was not the right time. hahaha. Seriously?

Had too much fun and shit this weekend. Minus the tearjerking moments (NSTB- Not Safe To Blog). Aaaaaw.

P.S.

I’m so motivated to kick ass in the gym, I can feel like I can punch the living daylights of some drunkass (given the opportunity that I’m the sober one).

Holy Hell it’s Monday again!! Gaaaaaah. /wrist.
