Eats Too Much
April 20, 2010One Friday night, one of my officemates shared a part of his “don’t date list” – or some characteristics / traits he tries to avoid when it comes to a looking for a suitable date. He only shared a few for fear of leakage. AS IF *Mandatory eye roll commencing*. Two of which includes 1. Boring conversationalist and 2. Eats too much.
Women by nature are emotional eaters. That’s one of the main reasons why MEAN GIRLS is a big hit. Men need to understand the basics of emotional eating. It’s hormonal, especially when it comes to our time of the month. Imagine the struggles that we need to deal with aside from the cramps and acne outbreak. It would be nice if they cut us some slack and avoid insensitive fat jokes or post-pubescent humor. We get it, we’re ugly and depressed for a week and then we go back to being our normal neurotic yet happy-go-lucky selves. By we, I really meant I and ME. Another proof that there are more bi polar women than men. Ok, I made that up.
Keeping these two things in mind, I came up with my own list mind. Weighing the pros and cons between starving artist to filthy rich rockstar, I’m not really picky. I mean I try not to be because chances are if you keep on choosing you’ll miss out the essential. I would be a hypocrite if I say that I do not have an ideal partner in mind. But really, I’m more of a let’s cross the bridge when we get there type. I am open to possibilities. I want to keep it all simple because I’m complicated. That’s really a lame analogy but yeah. You get the drift.
Nevertheless, it’s an interesting observation to point out that men are particular when it comes to how women dress. And while I may not be a SME (subject matter expert), I’ve learned and my officemate confirms that low cut dresses, especially those that shows certain curvatures and inappropriate skin exposures adds leverage to compatibility. Again, it can be relative depending on the likeability and the appearance as well as presentation of such curvatures. Men are particular when it comes to presentation. They are highly visual and are often mislead by fancy contraptions we put up with. Given the opportunity, men will and most probably attempt to test the quality of such curvatures. Will it be safe to say that men are subjective when it comes to weighing options like quality over quantity or vice versa. Food for thought. Let’s leave it at that for now. We’re all pretentious at some point. We just don’t want to admit it because it’s bad for our self-righteous image. But really, sometimes our lists our useless, more often than not, it boils down to the shock-and-awe-technique. It’s just an impression but impressions whether they be trivial or not lasts. Screw the lists. Sometimes we’re more credible when we’re intoxicated and sleepless.
